Rev. Ben Milner

Senior Pastor of Preaching & Evangelism

:: Ben Milner : senior pastor of preaching & evangelism ::

Ben Milner is the founding pastor of Salem Presbyterian. Ben preaches most Sundays at Salem and loves to pray in people's homes. He is the moderator of our session, the elder team at our church, and he loves to meet with college students. A former atheist and skeptic himself, Ben is passionate about meeting with people who are inquiring or skeptical about Christianity.

He grew up alongside his two brothers on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. The son of two teachers of English, Ben graduated from Wake Forest with a B.A. in Physics in 1992. As a senior at Wake Forest, he spent a semester studying abroad in London. While there he met his wife-to-be as well as his God-to-be. Actually, both of them found and rescued him.

Ben graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2002 and immediately took a position at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, the same church that he had attended as a student starting in 1992, shortly after his conversion.

Ben was called as an assistant pastor in 2004 and charged with starting an evening service at 5pm. The congregation grew and took on an identity of its own and in 2011 decided to move into the sanctuary of Green St. Methodist Church. We did this in order to witness to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in another section of the city, the Gateway neighborhoods. In 2013 we officially became our own separate church, Salem Presbyterian Church. Ben is the chair of RUF for our Presbytery and helped lead the effort to start RUF at Winston-Salem State.
