MISSION & OUTREACH
We value the university's place in our world. We have many professors, graduate students, and undergraduate students engaged with our church. Both our pastors are passionate about the university. Ben Milner, our senior pastor, is the son of professors and grew up on the Wake Forest campus and Austin Pfeiffer began his ministry career in college ministry.
RUF Wake Forest: Salem Pres loves RUF (Reformed University Fellowship). RUF is the college ministry of our denomination and many of our members either attend RUF or attended when they were in college. A big chunk of our worship service is taken up by RUF students, so check here for carpool options. Salem Pres financially supports RUF Wake, but if you would like to support this work as an individual, click here.
RUF Winston-Salem State: Salem is part of our Presbytery's effort to plant an RUF chapter at Winston-Salem State. We are currently raising funds to call a pastor. If you would like to support that effort, please click here.
MERCY & JUSTICE PARTNERSHIPS
Salem wants to be a part of acting justly and loving mercy in Winston-Salem. We strategically partner with few organizations that we hope to fund and support intensively.
Mercy Fund: We aspire to help those in need, both inside and outside of our congregation. Contact our Servant Leaders for more information.
City with Dwellings: City with Dwellings (CwD) works to end homelessness by creating therapeutic and transformative community with individuals facing chronic homelessness in Winston-Salem. By honoring the inherent dignity of each person, offering hospitality, and consistent relational support, they connect individuals with partner agencies providing housing first and supportive health and employment resources.
Crisis Control Ministry: Crisis Control offers targeted short-term emergency assistance to solve a personal crisis. They believe it is important to treat families with respect and compassion. They offer financial counseling, an excellent food pantry resembling a grocery, an extensive pharmacy, as well as personal development classes.
Samaritan Medical Clinic Samaritan Clinic is a Christian non-profit organization that has been providing free medical and dental care to uninsured residents of the Winston-Salem, N.C. area since 1986. Patients are currently being seen at two different locations: The Rescue Mission and Southside Baptist.
Barnabas Center: The Barnabas Center is a nonprofit, nondenominational, Christ-centered counseling, training and teaching ministry. The Barnabas name, which means “son of encouragement,” communicates our desire to encourage people by coming alongside them, entering into their daily struggles, and walking with them toward freedom. 336.521.7641
Salem Pres has an official partnership with the Barnabas Center, but we also refer to the following…
